Heroes of gap close and high mobility tend to be really strong widowmaker counters, such as Winston and Genji.
In the hands of the good widowmaker players she can be an absolute monster for the enemy team. Landing shot means your team will have vision, having vision will allow you to land more shot. You see where I’m going with this.

- Genji: Hands down one of the best widowmaker counters. trying to snipe a genji is gamble hoping he doesn’t deflect your shot, in turn killing yourself. A Genji up close is also trouble leaving you with very little option for dealing with him.
- D.Va: Has no trouble reaching widowmakers as well as stopping their sniper shots. Being a tank makes matters even worse for widowmaker since she doesn’t do the best against tank heroes. Another great widowmaker counter.
